My Toshiba Satellite L635 won't give me any indications of functionality. I left the computer asleep overnight (I do this often without ay problems), but when I attempted to wake it up none of the indicators lit. The system was still asleep with the power indicator blinking at 09:00, though by 10:00 it wouldn't power up. When the battery is critical (7%) and my system sleeps it will generally hold a charge for at least 24-48 hours. I have attempted a 'bare-bones' start-up (with all unnecessary components disconnected [including the internal components such as the monitor and keyboard]).
With the 'bare-bones' setup I attempted first to start it with the battery attached and using the power button, then with the charger and power button, neither worked, I then ran the same test again, but I attempted o short the power button connectors with a pair of stainless-steel scissors; this didn't work either, so I ruled out the power button being an issue.
I don't have proper troubleshooting equipment (another battery and charger) so that may be an issue.

Below I will include all information that may be relevant.

Mfg. date: Sept. 2010
Date of purchase: Dec. 2012
Model: Toshiba Satellite L635-S3030 SYSTEM UNIT
Part # on case: PSK60U-00600| <ES5.0>
Processor: x64 Intel Celeron dual-core

The information below was found on the system board:

There is also a table printed on the board with red dots on certain items. I have recreated the table with Excel. A red highlight means that there is a red dot on that item. The one with the question mark (?) was covered to the extent that I can't be sure of what the number was.

I would appreciate any help you can provide.

Solution
So you have taken the battery out, disconnected it from the power adapter, held down the power button for 30 seconds and then placed the battery back in and the power adapter and tried powering it on?

I tried completely every trouble shooting method, the forum had to offer but then I thought. What will happen if I removed my machines C-mos battery? Then return it to its rightful place. Yes, th perfect solution nd it worked.
Ones my pieced my machine together, I powered it back on. There weren’t any blinking led’s, with my screen back on. I got a display message something about; your c-mos battery is removed, blah blah. Ignored that nd entered F2, 4 setup nd configured my dates Oh, nd make sure your machines battery is having power for when you turn it on, nd lastly make sure your Critical Battery Wake-up setting is disabled in th C-mos setup. That should come as a recommendation, Yawl ar welcome.

Hi Jakes, do you mean you replaced your C-mos battery with a new one or did you put the same one in again?

I was re-installing windows on my friend's Toshiba laptop Dynabook Satelitte AW2 when the laptop suddenly went out.
I tried all things possible to revive it in vain. The power adapter works ok as I connected it to my Toshiba and it is working great.

There is no light at all from the laptop indicator lights. I took it apart to see if there is anything I could do, and realised that everytime I do connect the laptop to the adaptor, the adapter light(green light onthe adapter that shows power on) goes out, when I do disconnect it from the laptop, it comes back on.

Am I fucked?

Might mean they think you can take it apart and have a spare power switch to plug in? I dunno.

Make sure to try the first suggestion from lostsurfer - It worked first time for me. (Thanks!)

Unplug ac power source to computer and remove battery.
Then hold down power button for at least 30 seconds.
install battery and plug in ac power again.
Some people said it took a few tries before getting back to normal, so maybe hold down the switch longer - i held it down for 90 seconds. Keep trying, since this worked for others here.

Apparently, the circuitry had a charge on it that needed to be discharged. If so, it may happen again?

Hello Guys!! I found the soulution to the first question of all. is the button of the power. you to dissarmed the laptop, break and take out the button ( I did that ) and then make sure it fits again. The laptop wont turn on because it get stuck with the foam inside. Hope you guys solve the problems with this one. Have a nice day.

it's only a temporary fix for me though. It works until the next time I need to plug it in. Then it just charges forever but the battery percentage doesn't increase. I don't know if I should purchase a new battery or if that will even work. At this point in time, my computers about 3 1/2 years old, but isn't slow or have any of the other problems an old computer usually has. It's a Toshiba Satellite C50-A-002. If anybody has a more permanent solution for me that would be very appreciated! Cheers.
