Hello forum,
I have a Samsung R530 laptop (Core i3, 8GB ram, SSD. Runs well but there's a problem with the touchpad. When I put any pressure at all on the area just above the top of the touchpad (and below the bottom row of keys on the keyboard) the laptop behaves as if I have clicked the touchpad left button. The same thing sometimes happens when I push certain keyboard keys (but not other).
The click also shows up in the little indicator icon in my system tray.
It's an intermittent but long-standing problem, and very annoying.
Does anyone know what the problem might be please, and how I could fix it? Some kind of short circuit inside the keyboard/touchpad perhaps? I haven't spilled any liquid on there (as far as I can remember...!). I think the keyboard and touchpad can be replaced fairly easily, but the touchpad buttons are - IIRC - soldered directly onto the main motherboard so that could be more difficult to replace.
Thanks!
Alan.
