Track pad troubles!

I have a budget laptop, Asus x540l, that I purchased approximately a year ago. It came with Windows 10 installed. But sometime, after one of the updates, I found that I can no longer scroll using the trackpad. I uninstalled smart gesture, and reinstalled the drivers required, but no luck. No scrolling... I have googled and googled to no avail. Can ANYONE help?????? I was told to reset PC, but hesitate because I will have to reinstall many programs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First try this...

1. Uninstall the keyboard driver.
2. Reboot the computer (without reinstalling the driver).
3. When it restarts, it should reinstall the driver on its own.

If that doesn't work, try reinstalling the Synaptics driver.
