transfer pictures from phone to computer

how do I transfer pictures from cell phone to pc?

Depends on your cell phone.

On Windows Phone it is real easy, you plug in your phone via the USB to the pc and just browse to the appropriate folder using the explorer.
And copy the files to anywhere on the pc.

I would assume Apple and Google offer similar services for iPhones and Android devices.

I have a Verizon LG, and when I plug it in to the computer, it just starts charging ...and doesn't show a folder to click on to get the pictures.
