Transfer to DVD help

I recorded a college football game on ESPN on my 4508. I have a Samsung DVD
recorder. When I tried to record the game off of the replay to DVD, it keeps
stopping saying "Copying of this program is not allowed".

I then tried ripping it to my computer to put on dvd but the mpeg file is
over 6.5Meg and won't fit on a dvd.

Is there anyway to bypass whatever signal that ESPN put on the program so my
DVD recorder will record it?

Thanks

WHAT keeps saying that? The Replay? The DVD recorder? Transfer to a
computer (such as with DVArchive) should work, since as far is the
Replay is concerned it's just live streaming (not recording).

That must have been 6.5Gig.

First, you need the NTFS file system for such large files. Then, use a
video editor to split it into 2 parts that'll fit. I've done that once
for a long movie.

There should be no problem with that signal, once you get it to your
computer. I've copied some protected DVDs that way and it always
worked. You must have been using a (non-computer) DVD recorder. Those
are more limited in ways like that.
