Question Transferring Files from old hard drive to new hard drive

Hello, so most of the videos of transfering files from old hard drive are outdated and I want to know if there is a way to transfer my files and programs without transfering windows and drivers from the old hard drive.

Hi,in a desktop pc you can usually use more than one hard drive connecting it to the motherboard using a sata cable. So, you will be able to copy the files and program from old hard drive to the new one directly.

copying files between computers has not changed in years. those videos may be old but not outdated. you cannot copy installed programs over since there could be registry entries and folders throughout the computer. It is best to reinstall.
