I just bought the ASUS G53SW-XN1 from Newegg.com.

It comes with 6gb of DDR3 ram so I purchased 2x 4gb sticks of G.Skill RAM. I know the laptop has 2 open slots for more RAM, but I've only been able to find one underneath the keyboard. When I add the stick of RAM and turn on the laptop to check if it has been added the screen doesn't turn on and the keyboard doesn't light up. However, when I take it out the laptop returns to normal.

Am I doing something wrong? Anyone know where the other slot is? Here are the links to the RAM and laptop I purchased. Hopefully the latency of the ram isn't screwing it up or something.

You dont have to buy new ram, just take out all your old ones and replace them with your new ones. The current two modules you have stock are running in dual channel mode. Take them out and put in your new ones. Done
