Hello All, I have a Sony Vaio laptop that everyday crashes with blue screen of death. I know that it can be caused by everything: from faulty Windows to any hardware problem. What do you think is the best way to diagnose the problem? Normally what I do is I check in this order: RAM, HDD, reinstall Windows. If the problem persist, than I assume it must be a motherboard.
1. Can there be anything else causing the problem; like the battery?
2. Is this the right order to diagnose the problem?
3. What is the best way to test RAM and HDD?
4. Is there a way to test the motherboard?
5. What's the best way to test the laptop to check of the problem is solved aftet reinstalling Windows (like a stress test)?

It could be a number of reasons, I've mostly seen it because of RAM errors or old BIOSes. Try this:

Run memtest (google it).
Update your laptops BIOS.
Run a virus scan with Malwarebytes.
If that doesn't work reinstall windows.
Then use a stress tester like ROG real bench.
