Trying to factory reset my acer laptop but when I try to factory reset it it keeps saying I need something to do with windows

Trying to factory reset my girlfriend's acer laptop but every time I try it come up with install your windows installation or recovery media to continue but she doesn't have it. Is there another way to reset it?

If she didn't create the recovery media after getting the system then you will need to buy it.
