Trying to retrieve contacts from my old Sim card after getting new card and new phone number and store threw old Sim away

Is there a way to retrieve all my contacts

Assuuming it's an Android device, unless you went to great lengths to prevent your contacts being held by Google, they should reappear when you log in to G-mail or to go into the Play Store.

NO AND THE GOOGLE ACCOUNT KEEPS SAYING THAT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG?
