Accidentally turned off laptop during bios update update, now it is just black although it still turns on. I have a toshiba Pro L500, PART NO PSLS1A-031002

Solution
As above, it depends on how replaceable the BIOS chip is. I doubt it's socketed, it might be through-hole (easily removable with a soldering iron). It could be surface mount, which is basically irreplaceable unless you have a good iron, steady hands, and lots of technique.

You might be able to get a new chip off Ebay; I haven't looked.

Warranty is best option.

The bios is corrupt-
Being a laptop, you probably can't change the chip (even if you could, be impossible to find one)

You should try to send it in if it is still on warranty, otherwise you'll have to invest in a replacement.
