Accidentally turned off laptop during bios update update, now it is just black although it still turns on. I have a toshiba Pro L500, PART NO PSLS1A-031002
As above, it depends on how replaceable the BIOS chip is. I doubt it's socketed, it might be through-hole (easily removable with a soldering iron). It could be surface mount, which is basically irreplaceable unless you have a good iron, steady hands, and lots of technique.
You might be able to get a new chip off Ebay; I haven't looked.
Its FUBAR . If you are lucky, you might be able to change the Eprom chip on the motherboard, but other than that its finished . New motherboard required. Sorry Pal.
