Turntable wont connect to speakers

I have an Audio-Technica AT LP60 Stereo Turntable and cannot seem to make it connect to any speakers. I watched many tutorials on how you have to put it on line instead of phono, how to connect it, and that it is able to work using regular computer speakers, but I've tried multiple ways of connecting on multiple speakers and nothing has worked! Any help or advice is appreciated! All I can hear is faint sound actually coming from the turntable due to no speaker being attached 🙁

Are the speakers active or passive?
Passive speakers will require an integrated amp or receiver.
If they are active and you have set the TT to line level output then check the speakers and cables with another source to make sure they are working.
