The headset I like to use for PC gaming is my black and blue Turtle Beach Recon 50x, and I figured that I wanted to use it for my mobile device, which is a Moto g4 smartphone. It used to be that when I wanted to use it in my phone I would just plug it in, then plug and unplug the mic into the headset, and it would work. However, I've tried to use it more recently and this no longer works. There seems to be no way to make it work. So someone please tell me; is there still hope, or should I stop trying?

Solution
If it worked for you before, it's probably not a compatibility issue. If I were you, I'd try your headset in a different phone or computer, and try a different headset or pair of earbuds in your phone. by doing this, you can see if your phone's 3.55mm jack is broken, or if your headset is.

If your phone's headset jack is the problem, I'd try cleaning it following the directions found below:

If the headset is broken, there's not much you can do to fix it. See if you have warranty and are entitled a free replacement, and if not, you probably just need to buy a new headset.

Hope this helps!
