I have a LN40D630 LCD Samsung TV. has transparent whitish block of horizontal lines across the top of the screen about 3" from the top down. The lines look like they are on top of the picture and are not distorting the picture behind it.. Still have full screen picture Any thoughts on what board or component to replace.

theres not a lot you can do mate. if your lucky you may find some replacement parts on ebay. but other than that i would say contact samsung and see if they will accept an RMA request.

This is caused by defective lcd panel, unfortunately nothing to do about it.
