TV showing black and white

When i connect my SONY hometheatre dz-840 to my SONY tv wega trinitron, the tv shows a black and white picture when playing DVD, what could be the problem?

Have you set you hometeather to upscale the signal or progresive scan? If you have the option; change it to 480i.
