Tv went out

I have a 63 inch Mitsubishi or a 65 inch! I was watching a movie an i heard a loud pop in the tv! The screen went completely black but u can still hear the voices to the movie "but" can not see the picture! ! What can u do to fix it.. i had this tv for almost 7 years an never had a problem with it. Please help me..

Sounds like a capacitor popped. Most electronics repair shops can probably replace a cap if that's what's failed, for a lot less than replacing the unit. It's probably a hundred dollar repair if it's just a cap. About a 2.00 repair if you can identify which cap popped and have the ability to replace it yourself. There are lots of tutorials on replacing capacitors on Youtube if you know your way around a soldering iron and are basically handy. For most people it's going to be a repair shop type deal though.

It could also be something else, but that's the most likely place to start.

Since you have sound but no image the problem could well lie with the backlight inverter board .
