I have got Bose desk top speakers, however my LG tv has no audio output to convert to speakers, do I need an amplifier to make them work? Cheers.

Solution
That TV's documentation says it does have a headphone jack somewhere on the side. If it really doesn't:

If the amp/receiver that powers the speakers already has optical in, just run optical out from the tv to optical in on the amp/receiver.

If it doesn't, one of these can turn the optical out signal into stereo line out, which you can run to whatever you use to drive your bose speakers with:

Unfortunately that's No to both, I was told that my LG tv can't support/ has no facility to convert sound to the speakers, so an amplifier is the only way to hear my to through the speakers.
