Two sims

Hello all.
This is my first post so if my protocol is sloppy I will apologize upfront.
I have a question regarding cell phones and SIM cards.
I have a rugged flip phone and also the usual fairly delicate smart phone.
I would like to use one for work and one for home or other situations that don't require a sturdy device.
I can switch SIM cards between the two but I see that becoming a tedious chore.
Is it feasible...or possible to get a spare sim with the same number for the second phone?
I certainly can switch one off before turning the other one on so they never are used simultaneously.
Is this a workable idea.....has anyone tried this?
It would make life easier for sure if I could accomplish this.
The work phone is a dumb phone....and not really compatible with some of the apps I have grown to like and use so that is primarily the reason for physically switching phones rather than SIM cards.
Any thoughts?

In general, you can't have two SIM's with the same number. However, it does also depend on your carrier as some do offer services with number sharing SIM's. Your best bet is to contact them and ask. The other thing to consider is whether or not any of the device support eSIM as you could swap easily that way and never have to remove the SIM card from whatever device is eSIM enabled.
