I will soon have two laptops:
  • Lenovo T470s, work
  • Lenovo Yoga X1 (Gen 4), private/freelance job
I work partly home and also run my own business there.
I'd like to smoothly change from one laptop to another using the same keyboards and mouse to control them both.
The fever the cables the better. Only one USB-C for both would be ideal.

I'd like to update my ancient monitor as well that raises this topic: How to smartly connect the two laptops to one monitor?
A monitor with built-in KVM and 2 TB3 ports with power delivery would be perfect but that kind of monitor doesn't seem to exist
32 " 4K is something I'm looking for...

Something like this might meet your needs:

https://www.amazon.com/IOGEAR-Thunderbolt-Docking-Station-GTD732/dp/B01M74Y03E

Note (from the link): Compatible with Thunderbolt 3 computer via Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter (not included)
What an excellent suggestion! That would be all I need...

BTW that is for sale in Europe for a different name: IOGEAR Thunderbolt 2 DualPort. No "KVM" mentioned anywhere. No wonder I wasn't able to find it myself. Too bad the price seems to be double (over $600) overhere. That is a price of a monitor :(
