Typing www alone yields "bad" website

Firefox seems to want to embarass me. Every time that I type www into the URL window, the same embarrassing web site appears at the head of the list. I haven't viewed this site foe years, but it still shows up. Firefox support did not have a solution that works. Help.

You can try clearing the cookies of the specific site. To do this:

1. Go to the website.

2. Click on the left end of the URL bar, where a lock or document icon will be present(or an 'i').

4. Click the arrow pointing to the right in the little pop-up that opens up.

5. Click More information.

6. Click View Cookies on the window that opens.

7. Click 'Remove All Shown'.

Maybe restart Firefox, and keep your fingers crossed, because I can't assure that this works.
