I am glad to know if someone hacks whitehouse.gov and changes the entire site to pictures of kittens that our military will be deployed and take the son of a ***** out Osama style.

You show us kittens, we shoot you in the face.

Unless there is international cooperation it doesn't matter who does what. Like spy vs spy it will keep going on. Some for the money, others for the fun, and others to steal tech. The US can't stop the whole thing.

Bunch of BS.
This is just another attack on open ended free speech of the internet(aka your Freedom).
Here's why:
1. The military is completely immune to anything that goes on in the internet(even shutdowns). They use entirely different networking protocols, languages, security algorithms, physical networks, sat's, etc etc. That includes high level government transmissions.... I know this. I was in the military. These guys are hardcore.
2. The boogey man tactic of saying that a errant virus can shutdown the electric grid is BS. Last I heard it still takes a man, or woman, to open that valve or throw that switch, at a power plant.
3. The FCC has been openly attacking the internet since day 1 of obama's inauguration. Control the information, Control the sheeple....
4. And most important who's business is it that the government has a say in how to control a *PRIVATE* Network?????? Last I heard, NONE.

Russia cannot be treated as Antigua, nor China as Panama, for they are exceptional countries. Neither can the United States be treated as one would Iran, for it too is exceptional - despite King obama's statements to the contrary and his relentless machinations to devolve it to third world status.
When oppressed peoples the world over demand America's help, certain privileges must accompany such demands. Either that or stop asking.

The vast majority of the traffic on the DISN Core (aka - the DoD private network that is world wide) is plain old TCP/IP traffic man...that is unclassified (NIPRnet), secret (SIPRnet), and top secret (JWICS) data all flying around in standard networking protocols....not sure where you got that they use custom protocols. Encryption yes, redefining network design and behavior, no

The amount of ignorant BS in these comments is inexcusable. You guys will believe anything you hear about the Big Bad Government, then make up whatever sci-fi BULLSHT you can think of to try to make a point. I'm in the Air Force, and I'll tell you right now that we use the same internet as any of you, plus a card with a chip on it to get in to secure websites we use for work.
Also, do you really have to go and say that putting a picture of kittens on a website will get you shot? Don't be dumb, and everyone else, PLEASE don't be so easily brainwashed by these people trying to grab your attention through fear.

Ow great! Yet at the same time the US was responsible for the cyber attack on a nuclear plant in Iran, so now it justifies them to invade US?

They know no other country will agree to such a law, because if they would implement it, and have a cyber attack from US or Russia, they make no chance!

In my mind it's just another way to bully the weak, and have more authority over them!

Seems like the US puts the "Terrorist" tag on whatever, whoever, and wherever the government sees opportunity to seize something which they don't want to explain or talk about for the fear of being criticized and maybe stopped. It's a tad sophisticated system to avoid declaring war on anyone and anything, but still freaking everybody out into backing up effing atrocities.
So, whenever it is that I read about some new imaginary threat i.e terrorism in all kinds and forms, I know something's cooking, and that somebody with power is scheming behind the scenes to grab more power, on the expense of the poor US citizens.

Someone along my lines of thinking. If its not Terrorists, its Global Warming, the Ozone Layer, Communists, Nazi's..... the list goes on. Stick a label on it that the people fear, and they will support just about anything to fix it.

i'm with sting stang on this your level of stupidity determines the type and amount of force used against you.
if your ayman al zawahiri #2 al-queda and he's dumb enough to be caught online while posting he's going to blow up american trains or obama, expect a smart bomb to be falling on those coordinates.
if your puttin up porn with pictures of the principal on the school website expect your schools probate officer to be knocking on your door.
good gawd the fear mongers are trying to rush limbaugh the noob sheeples on here. save that for communist china, i'm pretty sure you'd disappear forever if you replaced the great leaders picture with one of kitten with out their say unless they wanted to project mao as a cute and cuddly leader than the brutal mass murder he committed in and after world war 2 along with stalin and hitler.
hacking the treasury department and stealing 1 trillion from the u.s.a. coffers will probably merit a smart bomb, 1 million or a couple billion will just warrant a hunt by the secret service, after all rich people and corporations fleece the u.s. government on a daily basis, i'm sure if you pay the minimal amount of taxes on that theft they probably won't really notice or care.
taking down ebay or citibank will warrant an interpol police raid, not a 5,000 bomb or a M1 abrahms battle tank crashing thru your wall. this isn't command and conquer let alone starcraft

take the tinfoil hats off and try using some common sense

If that asswipe that keeps posting spam on the forums thought for one second that Navy Seals could be kicking his door in and shooting him in the face he would stop doing it pretty sharpish.

Do a few high-profile hits to start with a watch the worlds spam content drop overnight.
