I have a Gateway P7809-U Gaming laptop that has a nice monitor
Gateway Acer 17" High Gloss LCD WXGA (1440X900) LTN170X2-L02

My question is I was looking at some forums and noticed that this laptop at the later years were being shipped with higher res monitors... well after doing some looking I found this
Gateway Acer 17" High Gloss LCD WUXGA (1920X1200) B170UW01 V.0

I can do all the work myself and I am just intrested in upgrading and keeping my old as a spare just in case... Will I run into any problems with voltages or the screen not working in my Gateway laptop?

Thank You!

Yeah i disagree, you can install a better screen just make sure the input is the same type as the cable, and also make sure the cable you have can support hd, and video card but most of the time the card does support it, find out by hooking it up to an external high def monitor, but its worth it if it means not buying a new comp, if yours is working you can get the nice screen for like 100 bucks the cable on ebay for 4 bucks or something :D
