Unable to Connect to Internet

I have a Toshiba Laptop model C55D-C5271 running Windows 10. I have not turned the unit on in about 2-3 weeks and I powered it up yesterday only to find that I could not connect to the internet.
I have connections and it shows I have internet access but it will not connect. I have connection with wireless and wired but will not go to internet. I have reinstalled drivers and gone in command line to repair winsock but no change. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have internet on any other device connected to your modem?

I have connection on all of the other devices. It shows the wireless has internet access but it will not connect and I have tried several different sites.

Try running in cmd "netsh int ip reset" and also reset windows firewall.
IF you are using a 3rd party firewall disable it.

I just turned off my third party firewall and ..... I have internet and can connect! I am using Bitdefender so why was it causing this type of problem?

might be something wrong with the settings but yeah thats your problem.Is there a specific reason for a third party firewall?

The Bitdefender Firewall was the issue. I have always run a firewall besides Windows and up until this point I have not had any issues.
