I have an eight year old or thereabouts Samsung laptop with a Core i5 processor and 500GB SSD though it did start life variously as Windows 7 or Windows 8 as it was sold in both versions. There must have been some change in the system's requirement for Windows 10 Pro after the 1909 upgrade. Ever since then, I have been forced periodically to upgrade or update and then rolled back. Now, as it has reached its end of life, I cannot even pause and there is in no way of switching off enforced upgrades I know will fail. So, whilst we now know that Windows 11 is going to have very precise and specific hardware requirements consigning many laptops to the dustbin so it would appear has Windows 10.
