unlocking error

I tried unlocking my XP1800 again. I get it to boot as a XP2000+, but before it goes into windows I get some sort of Shell error, KRNL386.EXE.

As fare as I can tell, I couldn't have unlock my XP any better. I can't get it in to windows even at default. I'm thinking either I wipe my XP clean, and hope the error's go away as well, or go for the gusto and try reinstalling the OS set at 2000+ which could be hit or miss, since the errors could follow.

I don't think I'm going to try to unlock it anymore after this, so before I give up I hoping someone has some suggestions.

I got rid of the error using one of my images, but lost a partition, going to try to get it back.

And I'm having better luck with the XP unlock, hopefully soon I'll be able to stretch it out.

Well, I got my XP1800 unlock and running at 1667MHz. Oh boy, that isn't much higher then I was getting raising the FSB, which now I can't seem to raise hardly at all. Maybe I can get more MHz, but I doubt much more.

Here's what I used, what's nice about it is it doesn't get hard so you can wipe it off, until you get it right.unlocking kit But in my case I didn't get great results I was hoping for.

You got a bum chip, then again a 200mhz overclock is nothing to be ashamed of, mines running@1.8ghz right now, mmmmm nummy.

 Heatsinks, if you dont overclock, use the STOCK!

When I first got the chip I could raise the MHz much more, it did seem like the chip lost it's power to overclock in a short time, if that's possible. I'm going to see if I can get anymore out of it today. Yeah, if you got 1800MHZ out of a XP1800, I'd say that's pretty darn good.

well it depends on what core it is.
if its a brown die AGOGA or AGNGA dont expect very much from it.

Wow!!! wonder why I don't get much overclocking. Must be the worse chip I had for overclocking. Maybe LHGPooBaa is right about the brown die AGOGA or AGNGA, or like you said a bad chip.

I tried overclocking again, about the most I can get is 1650MHz and be stable. Looks like the money I was saving is going to go toward some classes, so I'm going to be stuck with it for a while. At least my 4400 Leadtek video card overclocks very well.
