So i recently got given a second-hand sony vaio vgn-cr309e everything on it was fine until i started tryng to use it for games. They all seemed to start okay but then they all stop working randomly, usually when it comes to loading. The technical support for the games say to check my graphics driver is up to date, i had a look and i don't think it is. I went on the graphics card info and it has a data in 2007, yet this seems to be the latest driver on the vaio website. I tried to update the card driver (mobile intel R 965) but it says "A customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer. The Intel Driver Update Utility is not able to update the driver.".
Sorry i appreciate im a bit of a non-pc person, but is the driver up to date? Is there a way to update it safely as im not wanting to ruin the laptop?
