Upgrades that can be done to my laptop?

I got the acer aspire e15 e5-575g which has i5 7200u and a GTX 940mx and 4GB RAM!
I wanted to know if i can add an 8GB RAM stick with my 4GB stick and if it will make the programs run faster.

Also can i add an SSD without installing a full new windows i.e. use the old windows on the SSD.

Better idea would be to add a second 4 GB RAM stick so system runs in dual channel. You can clone your drive to an SSD, as long as the SSD is larger than the space used on the drive.
