Hi I have a dell inspirion 7566 with a 4gb gtx 960m im looking forward to upgrading its gpu since im maxed out on the other specs (core i7 quad and 16gb DDR4 ram and ssd) Is it possible to upgrade to a better gpu?

Solution
He doesn't have tb.

A built in psu is still a "psu," it gets plugged into the wall since no port will supply 75w+ to follow pcie specs. You can even get a power brick to do it.

An external GPU would be an option, but how depends on what ports your laptop has, plus you'll need an enclosure and possibly an extra power supply, and it'd be expensive. You'd need to search around for solutons to your particular computer, but it probably wont be worth the cost.

A psu to power an egpu is always needed. The bottom panel comes off easy enough to access the mpcie where the wireless card is but it's your only slot that you can use for an egpu. Mpcie adapters are cheap, $30 or so but you will be limited to pcie x1 which causes a severe bottleneck. Since the 960m is decent, similar to a 750ti, you'd have to go pretty high to make up for that bottleneck, like a 1060 6gb for a worthwhile increase.
