Urgent Help please! Laptop is slow

My new lenovo laptop(about 1-3 months old) is really really slow and its driving me crazy, even after numerous deletes and uninstallation of stuff, it is still so slow! i've deleted so much that i've only used 4g of space. Help! what should i do? My laptop runs on windows 8 if it helps.
