[citation][nom]edvinasm[/nom]Study: Chinese Cyber-Threat is 'Rudimentary'http://www.tomsguide.com/us/chines [...] 13067.htmland now US Says China is World's Biggest Cyber-Theft Perpetrator ???So who's right?[/citation]

you can be rudimentary and still be the biggest perp... its called a lot of effort and manpower.

but this is just showing how little US corporations care about cyber security and data security. One doesn't need to hack into the US government to get tasty secrets, just hack into the corporations building the stuff for the government, while they laugh their way to the bank and leave the back door open for data thieves to just walk in.

"but because the United States has never engaged in anything similar, ever. "

Not sure I like the sarcasm there. Besides, the United States has always lived by the "Do as I say not as I do" policy. AND we have better governmental security so things like Wikileaks has nothing to report about on the US.

[citation][nom]sceen311[/nom]Pretty sure we have some well qualified hackers here in the states, put their asses to work.[/citation]
[citation][nom]thesnappyfingers[/nom]I'm sure we already do, were just better at hiding it (probably because we have been doing it longer).[/citation]
We certainly do have better trained and more capable hackers in the US, but in terms of economic espionage there is nothing we would want from China. Once they are able to overtake us in a key industry or government-funded research we can even things up pretty quickly, but as of now it can't be anything but purely defensive which we all know is a losing game when it comes to well funded hackers.

Device Unknown, no offense, but wtf? If you truly believe any of that drivel, you must work for the government. Wikileaks has released more than it's fair share of US documents. And done more than enough covert infiltration, cyber or otherwise.

Yeah, because it's totally not like the US is hacking China. It's not like their security systems are more advanced than the US', and if China had something the US wanted they'd just hack in and take it.

Come on now.

I don't understand the tone of this article. Are they trying to be sarcastic when they say "but because the United States has never engaged in anything similar, ever. "

and this

"probably unrelated to the start of a contentious U.S. presidential in the midst of a crippling economic downturn. "

You got something to say, say it. I hate asshole writers editorializing in what should be factual stories.

I LOL'd so hard at this! Perfect example of the blinded, uninformed, sheep that make up the majority of the US population. Stop taking the bought and paid for main stream media's propaganda as gospel. Do a little research. If China was the ruthless destroy America machine all they would have to do is call in our debt, or refuse to loan us any more $. The reality is much, much, more complicated than that. Is there hacking, and many other things going on, yes. From BOTH sides. And there always has been. Why is it now that this is being brought up? Because we are putting ourselves in a very dangerous spot with China and her allies, and the US needs some spin to make the general population ok with it. If everything in the peoples eyes was 'hunky-dory' and we put ourselves into a position of aggression against China, the people would be outraged. Throw a little spin on it, make China the evil anti-America machine, and the people will back the US government's attempts to take over the world. An uninformed, media controlled, people are exactly what we are. You dont have to agree, you dont have to like it, that dont change the fact that it is true. Poke around on the internet for news coverage from other countries, see how drastically different it is than the news that is given to you here in the US. Look at how much is left out, altered, taken out of context, or just plain fabricated. Your television is not the word of god. Your news is not objective or without bias. There is reason that most of the world hates the USA...The saddest part of that reality is that the people of the US are oblivious to what their government truly is. We are too full of propaganda and lies to see. We stand around with blind patriotism waving our flags, while our government oppresses the rest of the world. Eventually the oppressed will realize they outnumber the oppressors 1000:1. God help the USA when that happens. Feel free to flame and thumbs down. It dont change the fact that its true.

They're also the worlds most populous country, so that pretty understandable.
Probability of finding more bad apples in a truck full of apples is higher than the probability of finding one bad apple in just a dozen.
