I tried to root my phone, it would not let me. I wish to enable usb otg

Which rooting utility did you use? I've never had a failure when using KingoRoot - note the extra O because I don't trust Kingroot.

You run it as a Windows programme and connect to the phone with the microUSB/USB cable.
