USB PS2 Converter Issue

I am trying to connect a PS2 keyboard to a laptop (running Windows 7) using a PS2 USB converter but the computer does not recognise the USB device. Any suggestions?

Try updating the laptops drivers and chipset from the manufacturer's support site. It sounds like it could be an issue with the USB controllers being out of date, hence why an update should solve the issue.
