Hey. I've recently bought an Alienware 17 R4 with 120hz QHD screen. I'm happy with the performance but there are some weird things that happen. First of all, after a few hours, I notice a little performance loss. It only happens in certain games: Overwatch and Black Ops 3 and a few indie titles. There is no throttling, the max heat my gpu gets is 65c and cpu gets max 60c. There is something else %100, when I restart the pc it goes away for another 2-3 hours. My real problem is that my USB slots seem to cause MOUSE DELAY or INPUT LAG, which is annoying in Overwatch for exemple. when I move the USB connection a little bit, it changes the delay. There is a sweetspot, if I move it even a little bit I get lag in my mouse. This applies for both of the USB slots.

I have v sync off
My mouse's polling rate is fine
Resolution is native
Drivers are up to date

Your DPC latency dropped alot after removing e2500 driver and after installing it back was raised again. Problem could be already gone as it states system is ok to handle after removing DELL programs.
Try to keep latencymon on the backround when you play and look how higb routine DPC goes

I think you had multiple latency issues. Too bad we went too fast and deleted everything so now its hard to say what affected most :D . Atleast huge spikes went down after deleting all dell related so thats my best bet.

Update, after a day of testing I can say that nope, the lag is still here. It's not as bad as before but still feelable and annoying. Especially when I move the USB cable of the mouse the input lag increases or decreases. Disabling wireless completely does not solve the issue as well. There is a USB C port in my computer, should I buy an adapter and try it on the USB C port? Thanks.

Oh god, this will get more complicated now. I dont think USB C will solve the problem because both USB A ports are on the motherboard so issue is somewhere else. Did you check every port on your laptop for bent pins? Look picture:
http://www.bootmylaptop.com/dell-d630-wont-power-on-with-damaged-usb-port/

Also make bootable memtest, search it from google and change booting order in bios to your bootable dvd or usb. Run it and see if it passes few times without error.

Make bootable operating system DVD like linux ubuntu. It runs completely from dvd so you can test it. See if lag appears there and use latencytop for testing latencies.

If you remember that laptop didnt have input lag and it started suddenly you can try using restore point from windows to see if it will fix it.

Update your bios to newer version if you have outdated version (this is your own risk, check warranty)

IT might be cpu related i had this when overclocking with a bad psu. Go to bios from boot and disable speedstepping. Save with F10. Do you have any overclocking settings or everything stock?

I found and disabled speedstep, when I saved and restarted, I opened up Overwatch, and even before that I could see that my system was slower. In overwatch, I normally get around 230 fps, but this time I got like 40-50. Also the sound was buggy and twitchy. So I re-enabled speedstep.

Was processor on stock settings? Did you check laptop ports for shorting? Did you try memtest? Windows restore point? Updating bios? download crystaldiskinfo and what is your ssd / hdd status?

Yeah I didn't change anything of the processor. I don't understand what you mean by "laptop ports shorting" I tried memtest yeah no problem at all. My bios is up to date and I've ran stresstests and normal Dell tests for like 20 times and there was not a problem not even once. Here is the HDD status: https://pasteboard.co/HaP1Pxs.png

No need to check usb ports that was for different thread :D

download GPU-Z and post here what is after "bios version"
This is for sure gpu related i found some threads about it. VRM getting very hot and you cant see that on gpu thermal sensor cause its chip temperature not vrm.

Go nvidia control panel and set Physx run only with CPU this helps with some people

Depending on your vBios version you can either downgrade to lower clocks and lower temperature of vrms and / or repaste and repad your gpu/cpu

If this still continues after changing motherboard which has usb ports soldered to it then i cant give any more advice than get someone to repaste gpu and find thermal solution for VRM overheating. There are dozens of threads about this model having problems with it. Good luck, hope this finally solves it, looks like a design flaw

My gpu has been completely renewed AND customly repasted. I was there when the repasting was in process and there was no problem at all. This is maybe the 10th time im saying GPU is not overheating, the max gpu temp is around 65 and cpu is max 80-85

Hey fagetti, I just wanted to jump in and ask why you do not think it is the ports that are faulty on the laptop? Doesn't the fact that he can wiggle around the usb and fix the latency mean that his mouse is not making proper connection? Sorry, I'm interested in this thread.
