USB wifi adapter for sony bravia tv KDL40r473a

Do I have to use sony's own brand wifi adapter for this TV or cn I use a cheaper one that anyone knows of? Cheers

You could search to see if anyone has had any luck with an alternate. Since the driver for the WIFI adapter need to be built into the firmware on the TV you don't get a lot of flexibility. The hardware inside the Sony adapter might be sold by another name. That would be the most likely way you could find it cheaper and have it still work. The folks over at AVSForum.com might have some help.
