use surround sound speakers connected to projector, without using it?

Hello, I am doing sound for a school production today. I am hoping to use the surround sound speakers installed in the performance hall. They are linked into the projector. How can I play the sound through the speakers, without using the projector?

Depends how theyre connected to the projector. And whether you've got something that the speakers can plug into.

Unplug them from the projector and plug them into whatever you want to use.
Other thing to try is just to use an audio input but not the video, unplug the video cable or set it to an input that has nothing on it.

Issue is that most projectors are set to shut off after a certain time they don't get a signal. Just unhooking the cables from the projector would be best.
