I purchased a used laptop from somebody online and now they are not answering any of my messages. She claimed the laptop was working and just deleting her files when she dropped it off to me. I think maybe the battery died or something because when i went to turn on the laptop i immediately got a message saying no operating system found. I have tried everything i can think of to get the used laptop working and no success.

The laptop is an HP Pavilion G6 model number 1d40nr or g6-1d40nr.
I tried downloading windows 7 on a different laptop putting it onto usb and loading it with the non working laptop and still got the 'no operating system was found' message please help me i don't know what to do~!!! i am borrowing a friends laptop while i try and trouble shoot the issue but its been 3days and i still have a non working laptop.

Solution
The laptop was probably wiped, re-install Windows using a setup disk, you can use the code on the laptop to activate it. You were saying something about downloading Windows 7 already, did you actually run the installation on your laptop already? And after it was done it keeps coming up to no bootable device found? You may want to have someone you know that knows something about computers check on the system. It may be a bad hard drive or you could just be doing something odd with the laptop when you are trying to get Windows on it.
