Using a 3G simcard on a 4G phone?

Hey guys, I recently upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N9005, and the phone all I can say is amazing, but there's a slight problem, In my country, 4G doesnt exist yet, and I was wondering if I can use my 3G simcard on my 4G phone? Would that work? Thank you

it should, these are backwards compatible, it can even use edge, which is slow, but it can use 4g and below signals
