I'm trying to use my Altec VS4121 subwoofer with a sound bar that has a 'subwoofer out' port.

The subwoofer has ports for a left RCA Right 9 pin, and a 3.5mm input.

Is it possible to use this subwoofer with my soundbar? and if so what kind of cable do I need?

Solution
It doesn't have an amp mate - that's the problem.
There would be ways of powering it without a doubt , the issue is it would probably be cheaper/easier to actually buy a powered sub in then first place.

Passive subs- no in built amp
Powered sub's - contain their own amplifier.

Ok, thanks for the answer, could you further explain what you mean by passive vs powered? Is the problem that the Altec doesn't have an on board amp or something? or is it just that it doesn't have a way of powering on without the right sat?
