Solved! Using PC speakers through usb port

My old tower pc needs to be retired and I want to move everything to my newer laptop. I have a set of Logitech speakers/subwoofer that plugged into the single audio jack on the back of the pc. Worked great. I am trying to use them on my laptop with a usb adapter that seems to have the same type of connection. However, I only get sound through my left speaker and SW, I have tried to find some windows sound setting to fix it, but have been unable to do so.

Any advice would be appreciated.

It is more likely that the connection to the speaker is bad, did you try the speakers with something else or back on the original setup to make sure nothing was broken or disconnected? Why are you using a USB adapter instead of the headphone jack directly?

I am trying to set up a usb hub with one connection to the laptop so that I don't have to deal with multiple connections each time. I also plan to hook up my large monitor. The speakers work when I reconnect them to the pc.

I can use the headphone jack if this doesn't work.

So the headphone jack does work OK? If it does, issue is with the USB sound card, maybe the fact that it's in a hub.
