V265 vs T730?

My wife has a Verizon account in Boston. I have a second phone, with its
own phone number on her account, both phones are dual-band A670 camera
phones. Both work well enough generally but don't work at our apartment
on Lake Shore drive on the north side of Chicago.

When calling from there, the display shows two bars; the call goes
through but then is immediately lost. Every time.

We tried an experiment: a friend of mine also has a Verizon account but
with a tri-band Motorola phone. He had no problem calling from the
apartment. Every time.

So I'm thinking of getting another phone. The V265 and the T730 look
attractive. I miss having a speaker phone and like the camera feature of
the A670. Given my situation; what should I do? Which phone do you
recommend?

Thanks,

Rick

The v265 is an outstanding phone with - no doubt whatsoever - the
absolutely worst, very nearly useless, not worth the bother camera; very
good reception, very good speakerphone; and nearly flawless voice
dialing (nearly flawless: no default for "name dial", i.e., must be
commanded every time). I really love this phone. Well, except for the
fact that one cannot upload ringtones, screens, etc., without GIN or
hacking the seem. Oh, did I mention the bogus camera?

Thanks Q.

Uh, how bad is that camera again? Like an NTSC tv picture? Like a bad
videotape? VGA quality? Could you make a comparison for me. (Thanks)

Any better bets for me?

I used to have Nextel; could care less about the walkie-talkie feature
but got used to the Motorola speakerphone which I miss with my Verizon
Samsung A670 dual mode. My wife and I use the camera feature a lot
surprisingly since we travel a lot and like to keep up with what the
other is doing.

On the camera. IF you remember this is a good phone with a camera added
AND you send the pictures to an email account you may find the pictures
are OK. The pictures, as seen on the phone are bad, but in an email
they are good enough for what they should be used for - i.e. snapshots
of kids or grandkids.

If you do not want the camera, go for the V260. Same phone, no camera,
silver cover. Both the V260 and V265 have outstanding reception and audio.

Excellent speakerphone. Overall, the v265 is very good. The camera is
VGA, no flash, 4x zoom which is crop and expand (digital zoom), very
difficult to control on-camera, essentially useless, IMO - in my opinion
very much like the little B&W strip photos from Chuckie Cheese, if
you've ever seen them. If you need a camera, there are better
alternatives (there are by definition, since this is the worst camera
implementation, ever).
