I owned a factory unlocked Moto 5GS Plus. Had it on Page Plus which piggyback's on Verizon's network. Half the time it was heavily deprioritized, under 0.3 mbps speed. The Moto's screen broke, so I bought a Straight Talk locked Samsung Galaxy S7 because I read it was compatible. That was 3 weeks ago. MY PHONE HAS NOT BEEN HEAVILY DEPRIORITIZED SINCE! The exact same sim card was used in both phones. I drive for my work all around the south half of Arkansas everyday. No heavy deprioritzation anywhere. CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN WHY THIS IS?? My 19 y/o daughter claims that certain brands are prioritized over others....any possibility that's true??

Solution
Any second tier carrier would have secondary preference with connections from those people with the main carrier. Don't know about differences with Page Plus vs Straight Talk coverage or service.
