If you actually read the article, Apple and AT&T have a 5 year exclusivity agreement..

Actually they are being very smart about the whole thing. Spreading (and/or allowing the spreading of) all of the these "iPhone coming to verizon soon" rumors gets them more customers who sign up with them in the hopes that they can just upgrade to the iPhone when they get it. Or, they just keep more of the customers that would leave because they want an iPhone but then think Verizon will soon have it so they resign their contract. Verizon played their customers every year since the original iPhone was released. Every year around spring time they start the whole thing over again. The rest of the year they spend spreading anti iPhone propaganda the the masses. All I have to say about the whole thing is, Ha Ha Ha!

[citation][nom]Smochina[/nom]Sucks to be american, lol. You guys have like the worst in mobile carriers ever.[/citation]

...and how's your economy? Unemployment percentages? Health care? What's the average salary? How many people die daily from a lack of a drink of water in your country? What's the suicide rate?

Please don't make blanket statements about a country you don't live in over the price/carriers of a cell phone.

LOL, touchy? And fwiw, unless he happens to live in Africa or south America, the answer to most of those questions is probably "better than yours". If you have a point feel free to shout it out. If you are just trying to change the subject, go find a different article.

Well i'm an american and i agree with him about cell phone service. i think thats just what he was reffering to. no need to jump on him over his governments possible idiocy (depending on the country).

I live in the US. I don't think it sucks to be American since no country is perfect.

However it defintely sucks to have AT&T as our "exclusive" iphone carrier.

Great News !!!
I will never buy an iphone and am perfectly happy with my samsung cheap cellphone.
i use my home computer for the downloading, etc not a little phone.

Canada: Economy is awsome, unemployment is like what 12% here at worst now a days, average sallary is like 45000 a year, no one dies from the water, and the suicide rate? pretty damn low.

I think its safe to say buddy who you're snapping at is from a tier 1 country per se. and also i agree, american mobile infrastructure sucks.

Looks like I'll be getting a Windows Phone 7. That will be on Verizon, the UI looks really good, and it interfaces with Xbox Live. I love my iPod, but if I can replace both iPod and my Omnia with one cool device, then who needs an iPhone?

Actually Canada April 2010 Unemployment rate is 8.1%
US same time is 9.9%

Only thing we win out against Canada is a slightly lower suicide rate.

In fact, US and science scores in the 2006 PISA were dismal. Science the US is 11 points/1000 below average. Far behind Canada, Japan and Korea.

In math we only beat 4 nations out of the 30 OCED (basically modern nations)tested...Canada and even australia are far ahead of us.

Basically, you shouldn't be bragging about the US.

In almost every health and education indicator, we're at the bottom of the stack, beating basically just the 3rd world countries.

Actually you guys are forgetting a very import aspect of the U.S. The private health sector. Their is a reason why Canadians come into the U.S. for health treatment in areas like cancer. U.S. is the best in this aspect. Most drug research is conducted in the U.S.
