Hi,

Firstly I apologise profusely if this question regarding the GeForce Go 7600 has been asked before.

I'm heading overseas soon for a year or so and I'm in the market to get a laptop to take over with me that will serve me for my gaming habits.

I'm not very knowledgeable on laptops and I've been trying to do some research on how effective a 7600 card is. I live in Australia and recently while shopping around I found this laptop:

Intel Core 2 Duo 5600 (2x1.83ghz)
160gb HDD (2x80gb)
1GB DDR2
Nvidia GeForce Go 7600 Graphics (512 MB)

Would this laptop do fine for running games like The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion or F.E.A.R.? I'd like them running at reasonably high settings.

Thanks in advance for any feedback I get regarding this.

*edit* Oh, the model is an HP DV9007

It will run them, not at high settings.

Laptops and high setting don't mix, unless you wanna spend 3-4k and carry 3-4 battery packs around.

Here's a chart of the performance. The x1600 is a little more powerful than the 7600 card. If you scroll down you will see some x1600 comparisions that should give you an idea of what you can expect.

Mobile GPU comparisons

It certainly isn't going to kock the cover off the ball, but it is a good mid-range card, especially with the 512 MB.
