video files 'unable to play' after transferring into SD card

i installed a 64GB sandisk SD card on my phone and transferred some video files into it, now the video files are 'unable to play' and are not playing anywhere. i've tried connecting the sd card to pc and playing the files, they can't be played, i also transferred it back to device storage and it is still 'unable to play' can anyone help me out please? they were some very important files.
