+1 those were the good ole days still have my voodoo blaster banshee and voodoo5000
Since that was around 2000~2001, before the blog-era started... it was very much a different website. Then I happen to come back to look up something about my Banshee/Voodoo3 and found that Toms had grown.
😉 I bet that if looked through my OLD email, I'd find one from Tom himself helping me on a Banshee issue.
My first gaming cards:
ATI 3D Rage 128 (I don't really consider it a gaming card but it DID 24bit output)
3Dfx Voodoo ($125, OEM version)
3Dfx Banshee ($100, retail) - On Par with the TNT, but games were mostly 3Ffx/Glide.
3Dfx Voodoo3 ($150, retail) - And I remained a Banshee lover
We loved Banshees because they were cheap cards, that were more or less on par with a Voodoo2 *BUT* without the need of a dedicated 2D card and yet half the price
After that... it was buying a ATI & GeForce video card almost 2~3 times a year until I got a 9800Pro which turned to 2+ years per card. GeForce 7600GT is the most expensive card I ever bought at $190 which is considered midrange. I gave the 7600GT to my son when turned 3.

I still have a 3Dfx Voodoo3 card for historical reasons. Same as my Amiga 1000 & 3000.
