That's actually surprisingly cool for lava, obviously its been out in the air for quite some time. You wouldn't want to be within 10 feet of fresh lava, and would get instant third degree burns all over your body at 6 feet. Would love to see how fast fresher, hotter lava could destroy an ipad

that CEO was very lucky; jumping around like that on top of fresh solidified crust is very dangerous, as if can cave in a tunnel full of molten lava that you had no idea was underneath. Stupid move, and stupid movie.

You guys should not be getting a kick out of this.....because the damn thing actually survived for a while there. The fact that at that temperature it was able to sense and notify the user that the temp was too high when sitting on freaken lava is pretty impressive.

Believe it or not but stuff like tablets and phones don't instantly poof into nothing when hitting very cooled lava (and yes this is much cooled). The temp does go up fast but they will survive for a bit before it dies out completely so it sending the signal is not too odd.

Would have been more entertaining if the battery exploded and got some hot lithium metal on the guy. Nothing like watching a jerk get injured while being a jerk.

Yeah, how awesome is it that someone took the time to waste a product built by a nearly slave/child labor market? People are *still* committing suicide at the Foxconn factory, and this guy is taking the result of that labor and instead of finding a way to use it to, I dunno, help people to promote his product, he's playing dunk the ipad....in lava.

So many people out there can't even afford one to use, and these jerks are blending, beating it with various implements, drowning it, and finally flying all the way to hawaii to half-ass dunk it in lava.

Seems to me ipad owners (thus case buyers) are not terribly interested in the best ways to destroy their expensive device. Rather its the people that hate it, or can't afford one that like to watch it. Bad marketing.

I was thinking more of when the Terminator was lowered into the Molten Metal to "self" destruct at the end of T2. Thumbs up at his last moments.

[citation][nom]Marthian[/nom]I don't see why people are complaining about this. I don't care if it's an Apple product or a gtx 580, someone paid for it and (while I'll be dismayed by the loss of a 580), they can do whatever the crap they feel like with it.[/citation]
In my opinion if you want to destroy expensive shit like iPad 2 for no reason, you should be required to pay a fine twice the cost of said item. The money from the "E-Destruction" fines would go to charities and needy people.

Which is better, destroying products made by child labor or condoning the child labor by willfully using the product?

ARE YOU THREATENING ME?!??!?! YOU CANNOT CONTROL THE ALMIGHTY CORNHOLIO!!!

Dunno why people give Apple so much grief, they make awesome things. Even the governments and stuff use iPads because of how secure they are.

apple is not secure.

there are just less viruses for it, when mac viruses get up and running full steam, apple is going to find themselves lightyears behind the competition.

"Which is better, destroying products made by child labor or condoning the child labor by willfully using the product?"

Ditto that.

why is this even on toms, honestly, I think they're just looking for reasons to put "apple" or "i(device)" in their news titles.

GUY PUTS IPAD IN LAVA.

Bravo, Don't see news links to SmashmyXbox.com on here.

Saying "Apple isn't secure, there's just less virsues for it" is a bit like saying that an earthquake-proofed building in Japan hasn't collapsed yet because no earthquake has managed to make it collapse.
