[citation][nom]hotroderx[/nom]There is a huge difference between me using a Modern Electronic Device and that video. I don't go around destroying electronics on youtube trying to look cool. The video was cool but my first thought is always what a waste that money could be used for something way more productive.[/citation]
It's the equivalent of a Saudi shiek buying a solid gold Ferrari, then purposely dropping it into an active volcano. Completely senseless.

[citation][nom]hairystuff[/nom]I reckon he used some pyro at around 1:25 because the laser on its own can't really do that unless its in the 10+ watts.[/citation]
Actually it can. Just Youtube some videos of people puncturing Lithium Ion batteries. When the lithium is exposed to oxygen it produces a thermolytic reaction (ie it produces a lot of heat and often bursts into flames).

[citation][nom]Marco925[/nom]Despite the eeepad transformer being first to come out with those specs? i hardly call it revolutionary, or magical
What's the fun in that? handing it to someone doesn't give entertainment. blowing things up is exciting. I Dare you to try a video of you giving someone an iPad and see if you get more than 1000 hits in a YEAR![/citation]

this transformer thingie has the same specs?!? Another androider having a wet dream. Hope your napkin supply is good. And don't worry about reality, eventually android will have something with "those specs".....

Now now, TooMuch(eye)Shadow. Nobody's asking you to think for yourself, do math, or any of the other things that Apple users live in fear of or believe are mythology. You didn't even look at the specs for both devices side-by-side. How could you possibly know? Your opinion has nothing to do with it - that's why they're "specs".

You probably still think Apple makes parts for their devices, too.

You think that Asus makes all theres? Here is the fact, the iPad and the Transformer Prime don't have the same specs. Transformer has a tegra 3 with a quad core CPU and the iPad has a Dual Core CPU with a Quad core GPU. Tegra is going to be faster at processing and the iPad is faster in the graphics department. Both great devices but they are different in specs.

Considering what the factory workers that produce these things have to live through, using one for the express purpose of destroying it in a publicity stunt seems like a dick move. And TBH, the "Look! We're destroying an iPad" videos are an old, overused, and lame concept. Just wreck a Camero or Mustang for attention. At least then your supporting your own economy with your ridiculous attempt to get people to look at your video.

I just wanted to add, that I would have watched the video had the title simply read "Burning (insert cheap material here) with high output lasers". If you need an iPad to help sell your lasers you are doing it wrong, lasers are infinitely more cool.

[citation][nom]SgtMoo[/nom]ap3x...care to tell me how many cores the tegra 3 GPU has?http://www.nvidia.com/object/tegra-3-processor.html[/citation]

Is a 6 core AMD CPU better than a 4 core sandy bridge? Nope because no one uses all them cores and they're weak in comparison anyway. Show us something on Tegra 3 that looks as good as Infinity Blade: Dungeons instead of core count.

Sorry, I didn't mean to come across as aggressive if it sounds that way. I thought you were implying the core count has a direct effect on performance.

While I personally prefer the gen 3 iPad to the Transformer Prime (I've had both) I don't see what all the controversy is about. Why do some people feel they have to publicly note that one is better than the other? Try both and get the one you prefer...no drama needed.
