I'm really sick of the video games make kids violent debate.
If that was true I'd be a serial killer by now.

The fact of the matter is most of these old fossils don't play and have had very little exposure to video games in their lives because they are TOO OLD. Pong isn't violent because it can't be, look at the graphics.

This argument will not go away in my lifetime because by the time it goes away I will be old and the old farts in office will all have played tons of video games, enough to know that it doesn't have any real effect. (This will take up to 40 years.) Which means this argument isn't going away any time soon but the people that actually think it causes violent behavior will always be completely ignorant in my eyes.

Nanny state logic: Ten million people play game X. 1 of those people goes on a shooting rampage. Ergo game X causes criminal insanity.

You could probably get better results from offering random passers by a candy bar for murdering the next person they see.

Bossman:"Johnny, has the bait been put into place?"

Johnny: "Yes sir, the bait has been deployed."

Bossman: *Waits in expectation.*

I tip my hat to you. The few studies I know of resulted in nothing, and one of them I believe was somehow screwed with.

I've played games avidly from GTA1, to Goldeneye 64, to Tropico, from 3-4 years old on (obviously the earlier 2 were in this area). I graduated second in my class in 2011, am full time at a university, with a GPA of 3.81. Even if I tried I could never hurt a person, or animal. On top of it I have the "dreaded" Aspergers' Syndrome too (so minimal though no one would notice). All of this should make me a historically infamous murderer, right?

My parents actually raised me, instilled a sense of right from wrong onto me, and gave me morals and principals. Whether of not I chose to live up to them was up to me, but they did their job and have always been there for me. That's all that's needed is, is parenting. I'm so ashamed of and pissed over the ignorance of the world with matters like these.

[citation][nom]Gooberface[/nom]Hey ! Let me ask you this : In how many countries outside the US has schol shootings occurred ? I know you have a "Constitutional Right" but maybe it´s time to revoke it.Kinder Eggs are prohibited because of a small toy inside is considered dangerous, but you can legally get an AK47 ??? Tell me in which scenario an assault rifle makes perfect sense for a normal citizen to have ?[/citation]
In Brazil acquiring a gun through legal channels requires lots of papers and the expenses with taxes are sky high. Not even these measures prevented this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rio_de_Janeiro_school_shooting

So there goes my criticism. It's not possible to stop the black market be it in Brazil or in the USA (I'm sure you've read about the alcohol ban in the 20s and how it turned out) but I'm sure the gun control policies implemented in Brazil turned to criminals' benefit as they're nearly assured not a single fair family owns a gun at home.

Then stop voting for those dumbass Democrats!!!!!
Independents, moderates and libertarians all come from that same group tbh..

When we have Dems like Biden meet up with game developers, what do you think will come of that????....what do you think the intention is??...

I would like to ask only 2 questions to Mr. Nader .... "What does that make parents that buy violent video games for their kids?" AND "Should we be calling DSS on parents that do?"

Maybe Mr. Nader needs to think before he opens his big mouth. I have a Son, I don't let him play violent games because as a parent I review material and decide what is suitable for him. Last I checked that is a parents job, not the governments. The nice video game companies very kindly put a nifty ratings system on their games, I pay attention to those rating systems and then still play the game with my Son to make sure it is acceptable.

[citation][nom]abbadon_34[/nom]So much for the Liberal-Socialist "Consumer Advocate" and Green Party Presidential candidate, reminds me of Tipper Gore's "Explicit Content" music crusade in the 80's. The only polititians who truely care about your constitutional rights are Libertarians.[/citation]

What drivel.

[citation][nom]sacre[/nom]"1% tax to violent video games"I hope they will pay the video game developers their money lost since pirating will go up 100%.Thank christ I live in Canada.[/citation]

.....

Typical old bastard who just needs to retire from society. He obviously has no clue that the average game is in his late 30s 8p total putz.

Keep your damn hands off my guns and my games 8)

[citation][nom]jack_23[/nom]Well, even if game developers are somehow molesting children, what's it called when politicians molest everyone?[/citation]

"Legitimate Rape"

PEGI rating should be kept in mind by the parents and if still they call it the same then its their problem not the game developers or designers
