Question Visio and ATSC tuner

It's my understanding that my Visio (dumb)smart TV doesn't have a built in ATSC in tuner, thus no coaxial input.
(It's a 70 inch cheap TV, I'm 73 and didn't know better when I bought it. )

Question: is buying an external tuner the ONLY way to connect a digital antenna to this pos TV?

I've recently cut the cable and get local TV thru Hulu (because I like Family Guy and Rick and Morty ), but I want options for when wifi goes down during storms and for general background noise without wasting data usage).
